How to apply

Castlehill operates a “Choice Based Lettings” scheme to allocate our properties. Our allocations system is called homehunt North East Scotland and full details on how this works and how to apply for a house can be found by clicking on the HomehuntNES logo below.Choice Based Letting is a different way of allocating properties from traditional waiting list and points schemes and it aims to make applicants more involved in the process of choosing a home they want to live in.Applicants register on our system by completing a short form and we advertise all our vacancies as they arise. You can then apply for whatever property interests you – the choice is yours! We allocate the tenancy from the list of people who have expressed an interest, giving priority to the household that makes “best use” of the property and has the highest level of housing need. If you have a significant housing need, (e.g. are homeless, overcrowded or have a medical need) you can complete a short form allowing us to assess your circumstances and award you a priority pass.

  • Available properties are advertised fortnightly on Tuesdays in the “Press and Journal” newspaper “Your Home” pullout and online at the HomehuntNES website.
  • You can download a copy of Castlehill’s Allocations Policy by visiting the Document Store on this website.
