The sheltered housing scheme at Bayview Court, Cullen was built in 1991 and consists of 20 flats and cottages in the historic Seatown area. The main part of the scheme which is a five storey block building also includes communal facilities in the form of a residents lounge, kitchen, laundry equipped with washing machines and tumble dryers, hobbies room and two guest bedrooms where tenants friends or relatives can stay.
All properties have electric 'Total Control' heating and there is also a
Scheme Manager call system and fire alarm system throughout the scheme. A lift provides access to all floors within the main block.
The Resident Scheme Manager who lives at the scheme works in conjunction with the Relief
Scheme Manager. They are on duty at certain times during the day and 'on call' during the night. When
Scheme Manager staff are not on duty, support for tenants is provided through the Community Alarm scheme who can initiate appropriate action to assist tenants.
Cullen is located on the Moray Firth and is dominated by the spectacular arches of the former railway viaduct overlooking the town, harbour and beaches. The town has a range of services and facilities including medical practice, various shops and businesses and leisure and community activities. There are also public transport links to other parts of Moray, Aberdeenshire and Aberdeen city.
