Fountville/Tanfield Courts

The sheltered housing scheme at Fountville Court/Tanfield Court, Summer Street, Woodside, Aberdeen was built in 1974/1978 and is located adjacent to the Fountville Residential Home operated by Voluntary Service Aberdeen. The scheme consists of a total of 25 properties including 8 'studio' properties at Fountville Court. Individual gas heater/boiler units supply central heating systems in each property.

Although there are no communal facilities at the scheme, tenants have the opportunity to participate in certain social activities at the Fountville Home. All properties have a Scheme Manager call system that is linked to Fountville Home and through an agreement between Castlehill and VSA staff provide a housing support service to tenants and are available to respond in an emergency.

Fountville and Tanfield Courts are located adjacent to a Day Centre operated by Aberdeen City Council and tenants have the opportunity to attend this facility. There are also a number of local services and shops and regular public transport links to Aberdeen City centre.
