Castlehill aims to encourage meaningful participation by our tenants and to ensure that people are involved in decision making on issues that affect them, wherever possible. The Association has a formal Participation Strategy and as well as supporting Registered Tenant’s Organisations; we also wish to engage with informal tenant’s groups or individuals.
Some issues, such as changes to rents, will involve consultation with all Castlehill tenants and give the opportunity for all to participate in the decision making process, whereas other involvement may be more at a “scheme based” level e.g. in a sheltered housing scheme, tenants often participate in organising social activities or in taking decisions about the Housing Support service that Castlehill provides.
How much, or how little, you get involved is up to each individual but all willing participants will be welcomed and supported!
For an informal chat about participation and how you can get involved, please contact Debbie McVean on 01224 625822.
