Portlethen
The sheltered housing scheme at Glebe Court, Portlethen was built in 1990. It consists of 19 flats in a single storey block building and 3 cottages, with a further 12 link cottages owned by Aberdeenshire Council on an adjacent site. Communal facilities are available in the form of a residents' lounge and kitchen, laundry equipped with tumble dryers and washing machines and
2 guest bedrooms where tenants' relatives or friends can
stay for a small charge.
All properties have their own individual gas heating and there is a call system and fire alarm system throughout the scheme. Castlehill provides the
Housing Support service for tenants living in the 12 Aberdeenshire Council cottages and tenants are welcome to use the communal facilities available.
We provide a Housing Support service 7 days each week at this
scheme. We employ a Manager and a Relief Manager
to do so, and they are normally on duty each day from 9.00
am - 5.00 pm, with a one hour flexible break for lunch
between 12.00 - 2.00 pm. When staff are not on
duty, support for tenants is provided by RCC/Community
Alarm, whose staff can initiate appropriate action to
assist.
Portlethen is conveniently situated to the south of Aberdeen, with regular transport links to the city by bus and rail. There are a range of services and facilities available, including medical practice, Post Office, dentist and various shops, including a large supermarket within walking distance of Glebe Court. Leisure activities can also be pursued at the local community centre and all weather bowling green.
