The sheltered housing scheme at Ruthrie Court, Aberdeen was built in 1976 and is located in a quiet cul-de-sac off South Anderson Drive. There are a total of 20 properties in the scheme, including 4 'studio' flats, which are located both at ground and first floor level and set in landscaped grounds. In addition, there is a residents' lounge and attached kitchen, together with a laundry equipped with washing machines and tumble dryers for communal use. There is also a guest bedroom where tenants' friends or relatives can stay for a small charge.
All properties have electric 'Total Control' heating and
there is a Scheme Manager call system and fire alarm system
throughout the scheme.
We provide a Housing Support service 7 days each week at
this scheme. We employ a Manager and a Relief
Manager to do so, and they are normally on duty each day
from 8.00 am - 4.00 pm, with a one hour flexible break for
lunch between 12.00 - 2.00 pm. When staff are
not on duty, support for tenants is provided by
RCC/Community Alarm, whose staff can initiate appropriate
action to assist.
Ruthrie Court has the advantage of being located in a quiet area, with easy access to the old Deeside Railway Line Walkway, but also close to public transport linking to Aberdeen city services and facilities. The large shopping area at Bridge of Dee is also located close by.
