Cost of living crisis

We are all feeling the effects of the cost-of-living crisis. Families are facing rapidly rising costs for food and energy and we know it can be difficult to find out about all the help available.

Aberdeen city council has produced a useful leaflet which details support and grants for families on low income with children of school age.

Grants are available for school clothes and free meals for nursery to secondary aged children, with an education maintenance allowance available for those with children continuing education at college. It also covers the criteria for applying for a young carers allowance and many other grants.

The leaflet lets you know how much you could be entitled to and how to go about applying for these benefits and grants. If you are facing difficulties, it is important that you claim everything you are entitled to.
