Further lockdowns mean restrictions to service

As we are plunged once more into a national lockdown, we’d like to reassure our tenants that we will continue to provide as many services as we possibly can while ensuring the safety of tenants and staff. A full list of services in operation is available here.

The government has permitted certain work to continue, external works such as site inspections, and construction works can carry on. Delivery of essential repairs can also continue including utility, safety checks, repairs, maintenance and installations and the carrying out of repairs and maintenance that would otherwise threaten the household’s health and safety.

The guidance also means it is acceptable to leave home “for activities in connection with moving home (including viewing a property), or for activities in connection with the maintenance, purchase, sale, letting, or rental of residential property that the person owns or is otherwise responsible for.” Which means that the process of letting our properties can continue albeit it with stringent compliance to the Covid rules.

Should tenants have issues they need to discuss with their housing officer, they should call 01224 625822 as staff are available to help. Finally, can we remind tenants of Amenity, Sheltered and Very Sheltered schemes that common rooms are out of bounds, due to distancing social rules.

We realise that the new variant of the virus is a huge cause for concern and a worrying time for everyone. Remember to follow the FACTS as laid out by the Scottish Government and stay safe.
