Tenant participation is about tenants influencing decisions about their housing. It is a two-way process which involves the sharing of information, ideas and decision making to improve our housing service.
Many tenants are already involved but we need your help to make sure that everyone has their say in Castlehill Housing Association’s services.
We want to use your experiences to put you at the heart of decision making by providing a range of options for how to get involved in what affects you and your neighbours:
Everyone is different, so we offer a range of ways to get involved.
You are welcome to join our Tenants Panel and be part of our decision-making process. Our focus is on improving services, our standards and our performance. The Panel meets every six weeks to discuss various topics, along with the chance to take part in tenant events and training sessions.
Our Tenants Panel helps us to put together our annual Landlord Report
We will help with all the information and support you may need. No specific skills or experience are necessary; your experience as a tenant is what counts.
Want to have your say, but can’t make it to our meetings? Join our Readers’ Panel and get involved from the comfort of your own home. We can send you information by email or post for your comments and feedback.
The Scrutiny Panel independently review our housing services in more detail and make recommendations for improvement, depending on their findings.
Members of this panel learn about the Scottish Social Housing Charter, what the Scottish Housing Regulator does, how Castlehill measures performance and how to benchmark effectively. The group use various methods to review performance, such as tenant-led inspections, tenant feedback, surveys and reports from staff.
The Scrutiny Panel offers an in-depth look at how our organisation works and could suit those who have more time to spare to help Castlehill deliver the best housing service we can.
We invite you to join us on our twice-yearly scheme walkabouts and help us identify any concerns, maintenance or management issues. Your Housing Officer will write to you in advance of these visits and we would encourage you to join us.
This award-winning group of tenants and staff from several housing organisations meets regularly to focus on tenant involvement in our area. This ranges from introducing new skills to tenants to organising events. We are always happy to invite interested tenants to join us.
