Shelter provides a safe space for rest, sleep, and recovery and is incredibly important for our physical and mental health. Castlehill provides high quality and affordable homes, recognising that creating a safe and secure place is vital; acknowledging that life is continuing to be hard especially given the current difficulties with increasing prices.

This year’s Housing Day theme is Healthy Homes, Healthy Futures. Drawing attention to the quality of homes and the importance of improving buildings wherever possible to make them more energy efficient and adaptable for changing needs. It also makes sure that we understand how important community is and that in its most basic level, it is a space where we can make connection and share our life.

The Association over the last year has been upgrading several of our schemes with its continuing planned maintenance programme. New doors and windows have been installed at Cromar Court and solar panels in Richmondhill. Ensuring that we help make homes more energy efficient and cost effective.

We have been using funds from our Community Benefit Fund to improve the areas our tenants live in, tidying up garden facilities and communal areas and encouraging community within the schemes, improving the places for tenants to meet and build relationships. Our Scheme co-ordinators encourage tenants to meet and hold coffee mornings and other events and work to make sure that our tenants have the appropriate information for them to keep their homes safe and secure throughout the winter months. Further information is available on our website and within the My Home tenant portal and should you have any issues, we encourage you to contact your HO or PSO.
