Solar panels - our policy

Plug-in solar panels became available for sale in the UK on 27 August 2026. CHA has reviewed the current safety information available and on the advice of our insurers these products should NOT be used in a Castlehill Housing Association property.

Please do not purchase any type of Plug-in solar panels that may now be available.

As a responsible landlord, we are investing in renewable technologies but at this time until clearer guidance is provided in terms of the building regulations and fire safety, plug-in solar photovoltaic (PV) systems will NOT be allowed as tenant safety remains our priority.
