With the telephone companies decommissioning the old copper wire analogue telephone system. Castlehill Housing Association (CHA) has spent much of 2026 decommissioning the hardwired community alarm systems at their Independent Living and Very Sheltered Housing schemes, where we upgraded the door entry system and ensured lifts and fire safety equipment were all digitally compliant. Staff attended Independent Living and Very Sheltered Housing schemes and gave a presentation explaining all the changes and how they might impact tenants.

Staff also offered help and guidance to tenants who wanted to apply for Digital Community alarms from the local authority and gave information in relation to your other options that are available on the market.
